The National Travel Assistance (NTA) Scheme, administered by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora, helps individuals who need to travel long distances or frequently for specialist medical appointments. Eligibility requires referrals between publicly funded specialists and meeting specific criteria. The scheme can cover travel, accommodation, and support person costs, with certain conditions and exclusions.
